
Poached Pear, Toasted Walnut & Blue Cheese Salad
This elegant salad combines tender poached pears infused with warming spices, toasted walnuts, and creamy blue cheese, finished with a drizzle of Blenders Blue Cheese Dressing. It’s a sophisticated, flavour-packed option perfect for adding a touch of refinement to your menu.

Ingredients
- 2-3 Pears
- 12 Cinnamon sticks
- 20g Honey
- 8 Cardamom pods
- 1 litre Grapefruit juice
- 160g Mixed baby leaf salad
- 80g Blue cheese, crumbled
- 50g Toasted walnuts
- 16 Sunburst baby tomatoes, quartered
- 10g Chopped chives
- 80g Blenders Blue Cheese Dressing
Method
Step 1:
In a pot, combine grapefruit juice, cardamom pods, honey, and cinnamon sticks. Gently heat to infuse flavours.
Step 2:
Peel the pears and add them to the spiced liquid. Simmer gently for 2 hours until tender. Remove from heat and set aside to cool in the liquid.
Step 3:
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place walnuts on a tray and toast for 5-6 minutes until golden and fragrant. Allow to cool.
Step 4:
In a large bowl, arrange the mixed baby leaves and add the quartered baby tomatoes.
Step 5:
Slice the cooled poached pears and add to the salad.
Step 6:
Add the toasted walnuts and crumbled blue cheese to the bowl.
Step 7:
Drizzle the Blenders Blue Cheese Dressing evenly over the salad.
Step 8:
Garnish with chopped chives and serve immediately.
